Dr. Fager was inspired to pursue his career after reading a passage in a book stating that the power to help someone could lie in just your two hands.
While attending undergraduate college, Dr. Fager played tight end for the newly crowned National Champion Saint Xavier University Cougars.
Dr. Fager's favorite golf course is Cog Hill's #4 Dubsdread.
William S. Fager, Doctor of Chiropractic, is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College, where he graduated with Honors and was included on the Dean’s List. In addition, he acquired a Bachelor of Professional Studies from New York Chiropractic College. He completed his internship at a health clinic in Levittown, New York and then worked as an associate at Allied Medical, a multidisciplinary practice in Massapequa, New York. He now resides in Palatine, Illinois where he has established his own clinic with his wife, Dr. Tara Lynn Whiteman-Fager.
Dr. Fager opened his first practice as an independent contractor within a facility located in Palatine, IL which was directed by the nationally known, former Mr. Universe, Mr. US, and Mr. American bodybuilder, Bob Gajda. Shortly after this experience as an independent contractor, Dr. Fager and his wife were inspired to expand their practice. The practice was relocated within the community where they were able to accommodate not only athletes but serve the general population at large.
Dr. Fager treats people of all ages and interest groups, but especially enjoys working with athletes. He donated a year of services to his alma mater, treating the Saint Xavier University football team. Dr. Fager is skilled in the practice of several techniques, including but not limited to Diversified, Drop Table, Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and SOT. He is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is Webster Technique certified. Dr. Fager also offers a fairly new and unique technique called Active Release Technique (A.R.T.), for which he traveled nationally as well as to Canada to become certified. He is certified in Upper and Lower Extremity, Spine, Biomechanics, Masters, Nerve Entrapment, and Active Palpation.
Through his A.R.T. career, he has had to opportunity to volunteer services such as at a Lake Placid Iron Man Race in 2007. This state-of-the-art, highly successful technique, invented by Michael Leahy, D.C., targets soft tissue injuries, nerve entrapments, and other such ailments. Combined with chiropractic manipulative therapy or utilized alone, A.R.T. has by far been the greatest asset for Dr. Fager and his patients.
Dr. Fager was born and raised in Kankakee, Illinois, and is a Bishop McNamara high school graduate. He then graduated with Honors, Magna Cum Laude, from Saint Xavier, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology while also playing tight end for the Cougars’ football team.
Dr. Fager has three happy, healthy boys. The chiropractor’s special interests are spending time with his family, exercising, and anything sport related. In particular, Dr. Fager has a strong passion for golf.
Tara L. Whiteman-Fager, Doctor of Chiropractic, is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College. She completed her internship at the Levittown Health Clinic on Long Island. While working there, Dr. Tara cared for men and women of all ages, eventually taking a strong interest in pediatric and prenatal care. Dr. Tara also worked closely with a supervising clinician to develop a basic motor skill training program geared towards helping children who were already under chiropractic care to develop basic motor skills and then enhance their speed, agility, and endurance.
After Dr. Tara L. Whiteman-Fager completed her internship, she relocated to Palatine, Illinois to open her chiropractic practice alongside her husband, Dr. William S. Fager. Dr. Tara possesses a strong background in rehabilitative therapeutic exercises and continues to lead the rehabilitative therapeutic exercise department for Hands On Family Health, P.C.
As an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, Dr. Tara pursues her passion for treating pediatrics and prenatal women. She dedicates her chiropractic treatment specifically to mothers and their infants/toddlers/children. Her repertoire of techniques include but are not limited to, Diversified, Drop Table, NIMMO/Receptor Tonus Technique, and Cranial Sacral Technique. She is also certified in the Webster Technique—a specific technique reserved for expectant mothers. Dr. Tara is also furthering her education with Intersect 4 Kids, a program addressing Complementary Alternative Medical options for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr. Tara has developed and instituted a one-of-a-kind Allergy and Sensitivity Counseling program targeted at helping to determine and mange food and environmental allergies and sensitivities. This also includes assisting people in achieving their optimal health through exploration of food and appropriate supplementation/vitamins.
Throughout her years of practice, Dr. Tara has earned a reputation in the community as a unique and valuable resource for parents, both established and expectant, who choose to become informed about alternative and natural means of birthing and parenting. Her passion for educating, learning from, and supporting her fellow parents in the surrounding community is a driving force in her chosen line of work. It is the reason behind the formation of the Mothers Nurture Group, a seasonal meet-up group dedicated to delivering the newest, most up-to-date information and research on alternative parenting choices. Known by children as “Dr. Mommy Fager”, her naturally nurturing bedside manner, uniquely honed clinical skills, and repertoire of resources has been a mainstay for several years within her community.
Dr. Tara has recently launched a Health and Wellness Coaching Program to more efficiently serve her community/clientele. This unique program is directed toward individuals of all ages who wish to optimize their health through simple, achievable, natural means.
Dr. Whiteman-Fager was born and raised in Fort Plain, New York, and is a Fort Plain high school graduate. She then graduated with Honors, Magna Cum Laude, from The College of Saint Rose, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.
Dr. Tara is a mother to three beautiful, energetic, and healthy boys and a beloved golden retriever. She enjoys outdoor activities at large including hiking, gardening, horseback riding, and photography.
Dr. Tara, as early as age 14, aspired to pursue a career as a chiropractor.
