Dr. Fager was inspired to pursue his career after reading a passage in a book stating that the power to help someone could lie in just your two hands.
While attending undergraduate college, Dr. Fager played tight end for the newly crowned National Champion Saint Xavier University Cougars.
Dr. Fager's favorite golf course is Cog Hill's #4 Dubsdread.
William S. Fager, Doctor of Chiropractic, earned his degree from Northeast College of Health Sciences. He graduated with Honors and was included on the Dean’s List. In addition, while there, he acquired a Bachelor of Professional Studies. He completed his internship at a health clinic in Levittown, New York and then worked as an associate at Allied Medical, a multidisciplinary practice in Massapequa, New York. He now resides in Palatine, Illinois. He has an established clinic with his business partner, Dr. Tara Lynn Whiteman-Fager since 2006.
Dr. Fager opened his first practice as an independent contractor within a facility located in Palatine, IL which was directed by the nationally known, former Mr. Universe, Mr. US, and Mr. American bodybuilder, Bob Gajda. Shortly after this experience as an independent contractor, Dr. Fager was inspired to expand his practice. The practice was relocated within the community where he is now able to accommodate not only athletes but serve the general population at large.
Dr. Fager treats people of all ages and interest groups, but especially enjoys working with athletes. He donated a year of services to his alma mater, treating the Saint Xavier University football team. Dr. Fager is skilled in the practice of several techniques, including but not limited to Diversified, Drop Table, Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and SOT. He is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is Webster Technique certified. Dr. Fager also offers a cutting edge treatment called Active Release Technique (A.R.T.), for which he traveled nationally as well as to Canada to become certified. He is certified in Upper and Lower Extremity Levels I & II, Spine, Biomechanics, Masters, Nerve Entrapment, and Active Palpation.
Through his unique A.R.T. career, he has had to opportunity to volunteer services such as at a Lake Placid Iron Man Race in 2007 and has worked various conventions in Chicago. This state-of-the-art, highly successful technique, invented by Michael Leahy, D.C., targets soft tissue injuries, nerve entrapments, and other such ailments. Combined with chiropractic manipulative therapy or utilized alone, A.R.T. has by far been the greatest asset for Dr. Fager and his patients.
Dr. Fager was born and raised in Kankakee, Illinois, and is a Bishop McNamara high school graduate. He then graduated with Honors, magna cum laude, from Saint Xavier. Here, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology while also playing tight end for the Cougars’ football team.
Dr. Fager has three happy, healthy boys. The chiropractor’s special interests are spending time with his family, exercising, and anything sport related. In particular, Dr. Fager has a strong passion for golf.
Tara L. Whiteman-Fager, Doctor of Chiropractic, is a graduate of Northeast College of Health Sciences. Her clinical focus and experience is in prenatal, postnatal, pediatric, & female care. She also possesses a strong background in rehabilitative therapeutic exercises for all ages.
In addition, she is acupuncture certified (100 hours) through National University of Health Sciences.
As an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, Dr. Tara pursues her passion for treating pediatrics and prenatal women. She dedicates her chiropractic treatment specifically to mothers and their infants/toddlers/children. Her repertoire of techniques include but are not limited to, Diversified, Drop Table, NIMMO/Receptor Tonus Technique, and Cranial Sacral Technique. She is also certified in the Webster Technique—a specific technique reserved for expectant mothers. Dr. Tara also furthered her education with Intersect 4 Kids, a program addressing Complementary Alternative Medical options for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr. Tara has developed and instituted a one-of-a-kind Allergy and Sensitivity Counseling program targeted at helping to determine and mange food and environmental allergies and sensitivities. This also includes assisting people in achieving their optimal health through exploration of food and appropriate supplementation/vitamins.
Dr. Tara is the owner and operator of Now’s The Time Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching Center, LLC. She is a Certified Life Coach through Integrative Wellness Academy. As a certified integrative health and wellness life coach, she takes a holistic approach to well-being. She considers the body, mind and spirit while encouraging clients to explore all facets of health; the physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual.
Throughout her years of practice, Dr. Tara has earned a reputation in the community as a unique and valuable resource for parents, both established and expectant, who choose to become informed about alternative and natural means of birthing and parenting. She is known by children as “Dr. Mommy Fager”, her naturally nurturing bedside manner, uniquely honed clinical skills, and repertoire of resources has been a mainstay for several years within her community.
Dr. Tara is a passionate and outspoken advocate for mental health awareness. She continually hosts fundraising events to support the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and participates in the Out Of The Darkness Community Walks. Some of her events offer local teens an opportunity to earn volunteer hours while learning about the importance of “mental health hygiene”.
In addition, she co-founded and volunteers for The MomMark Project, a developing support group for single childcare providers and their dependents residing in her childhood hometown of upstate New York.
Dr. Whiteman-Fager was born and raised in Fort Plain, New York, and is a Fort Plain high school graduate. She then graduated with Honors, magna cum laude, from The College of Saint Rose, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.
She is a mother to three beautiful, energetic, and healthy boys and to a beloved Shiba Inu fur baby. She enjoys outdoor activities at large including hiking, gardening, beaching, horseback riding, and photography.
Dr. Tara, as early as age 14, aspired to pursue a career as a chiropractor.
One of her favorite places to visit - the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York.
Her hobbies include writing, photography, painting and exploring the arts.
